The FA has charged Costa with “an alleged act of violent conduct,” and he has until 6pm Tuesday (today) to reply. A panel of three former elite referees ould then decide whether to book Costa, which would lead to a retroactive three-match ban. While none of this would change the outcome of Saturday’s match, we at Arsenal can at least start to feel like there’s some degree of justice, however delayed, in these proceedings.

I think he still has to beat the one match suspension for not leaving the pitch after the red card. On the one hand, that shows further lack of self -control whether he felt wronged or not. Did he really expect to get Mike Dean who missed all that hacking, shoving and fouling by Costa to reverse his decision? However, should he be penalized now that the red has been tossed out and he, technically, had no reason to leave the pitch?
