Those of you with cardiac conditions would do well to have avoided this one. That advice might come a little too late after Man U went ahead only to get pegged back by Ødegaard a mere 35 seconds later. It was a back-and-forth match but one in which we looked vibrant, dominating for long stretches but a bit too vulnerable to counterattacks. When Rice squeezed his shot in past Onana at 95:43, the latest winning goal in this fixture ever, it had to feel like destiny. For Jesus to add a glorious third? Priceless. Let’s get down to the post-match poll to give the lads what they deserve!
Unfortunately we are missing Xhaka.
I don’t think we are. Rice put in another MOTM-level performance here. Havertz will eventually prove himself – hell, if Xhaka can have a redemption arc, so too can Kai.
Both Rice and Havertz are/will be good. Xhaka morphed into a critical part of the team. He left after his best season ever. His ablity to pop up and contribute would be missed by any team. Kai doesn’t need redemption he just needs to get up to speed. We need to transition much more quickly. Proof look at Jesus’s goal.
Ten Hag is taking a leaf out of Mourino’s book and add to that he’s a moaning minnie makes him extremely unlikeable. Teams that rely on defense and counter attacks can only be broken down by catching them out of position. imo
Havertz needs time. He’s coping with the pressure of that fee, our recent history of taking Chelsea’s “rejects”, and the years of confusion under five different managers in three years there. He’ll get up to speed soon; a goal would be very helpful, so I hope he gets one soon before fans start to turn on him.
